When you tell prospective employers why you were fired from your last job, make sure you keep it to a couple simple sentences. The more you talk, the less believable you’ll sound. You want to give them a couple one liners that briefly sums up why you were let go. Don’t give them tons of detail, just a few facts.
You’ll also want to show them you are the right person for the job. Basically, because you have done [blank] in your last job, here is how you can do [blank] for them in this job. This is what you want to tell them.
You need to connect the dots for them and prove to them why you’re qualified. Saying you are is not enough, telling them on your resume is not enough – you need to give them stories from your past jobs that shows them you know what you are doing. These needs to be success stories that are related to the requirements for the job.
