Bad Credit – How to Explain it in a Job Interview

How to explain bad credit in a job interview

Question: As you are aware, in some cases a Bad Credit Record works against a job seeker in many cases. How do you advise a job seeker under the circumstances?

Would you advise a job seeker attending an interview to mention this to a prospective employer upfront, and the remedial action which they are taking?

Abel M C.

You can ask them for consideration. Tell them your unique circumstances and get them to understand that it’s not your fault.

I would never mention any of my credit history to any employer unless put on the spot because I don’t think it’s any of their business.
