How to project the right image to interviewers.
Frustrated job seekers who have been looking for jobs and interviewing like crazy with no results find that it gets down right discouraging.
So sometimes they will start acting out of character and presenting themselves as they think interviewers would like to see them. This sounds like a logical thing to do, but this tactic will do nothing for you except put you at an even greater loss of what interviewers are looking for in a candidate.
Good interviews can be tough to get, but when you get them, it’s very important that you come across as being truly genuine and completely representative of yourself. You need to be honest with who you are and what you want. If you are of the mindset that you need this job to pay the bills and that you are going to try and trick interviewers into hiring you — you’re dead wrong.
When you’re not yourself, interviewers can sense an inconsistency in you and that something is wrong. Their instincts will kick-in and they pass on you. It’s that simple.
You will go much farther when you can just be yourself and not try to create the image of what you think people want to see. Be yourself and let them judge you for who you really are.
