Don’s answer to following up after a job interview

During the interview, I like to ask “when do you plan on making decision?”  This way, I’ll know when to follow-up with them without pressuring them.  If they say within 2 weeks, then I’ll wait 2-3 weeks before I follow-up.

But if it’s only been a week, you might want to wait a few more days and then follow-up with a phone call.  I personally like to follow-up with a phone call on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday around 9:00 AM.

I think you have the best chance of catching them at their desk at these times.  Never follow-up on Monday or Friday.  Monday is too busy and Friday is to relaxed and they are thinking about the weekend and visiting their favorite pub.
